I used to be where you are right now!

I know what it’s like to struggle closing sales and bringing in clients. For years I worked my butt off, spending 60-hour work weeks getting mediocre results. I was brought up to believe you have to work hard to make money. In fact, for about a year I held down two jobs trying to make ends meet.

There were many nights I would wake up worried and anxious that I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills or come up with the rent for my tiny New York City studio apartment. I was barely surviving and feeling hopeless about my future. I was tired, frustrated, fed up and ready to move back home to Boston.

Then in 1993, my life changed forever. I was living and working in New York City when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was the last straw for me. I was devastated and shocked. In just a few moments, my life was turned upside down. In fact, I had started dating a special guy. I didn’t expect he would stay around now that I was pretty sick. It seemed like things couldn’t get any worse then this.

I made a decision that changed
my business and my life forever!

I knew I had a choice. I could fall apart and feel sorry for myself, or take responsibility for my life and powerfully deal with having breast cancer. I chose to powerfully deal with my illness.

This meant changing any negative thoughts and reframing them with powerful positive thoughts. I began to practice this daily by listening to motivational tapes, went to see motivational speakers, selected my doctors, read books, and surrounded myself with loving supportive people.

As I made these changes something magical began to happen. I began to think about things in a more peaceful and positive way. I started to meditate daily and connected with my core self. I stopped pretending I had everything handled and started telling the truth. I became more authentic and genuine with people. I noticed more and more people started reaching out to me. People I didn’t even know would call to give me support and encouragement.

When I returned to my job, I started listening to my clients and prospects with a sense of calmness and ease. Instead of thinking I had to be aggressive or pushy to get the business, all I had to do was be me. I didn’t have to copy anyone else. The results were amazing. Clients came to me easily and effortlessly, and my sales soared.

The way I interacted with people changed dramatically and more and more people came into my life. In fact, the special guy I had been dating when I got sick never left. We fell in love (he said he fell in love with me because of my authenticity) and we married a year and a half later. Pretty awesome!

I knew then I had a special gift I wanted to share with others. I wanted to show people how to achieve anything you want by just being your authentic self.
